Bob Anderson retired from public school teaching in May 2017, after having taught high school choral music in Iowa for 41 years. Mr. Anderson’s choirs sang featured performances at multiple North Central Division and National ACDA Conventions.  His choirs toured internationally on four different occasions from 2003-2012. Bob was the director of 10th Street Edition, the varsity show choir at Linn-Mar High School.  10th Street Edition was recognized for its excellence throughout the Midwest, winning innumerable Grand Championships, as well as receiving Best Vocal, Choreography and Band caption awards. An active member in the American Choral Directors Association, Bob served as both Iowa President and President of the North Central Division of ACDA.  Bob received the prestigious Robert McCowen Award for outstanding contribution to choral music in Iowa, from the Iowa Choral Directors Association. Bob currently has a private voice studio, clinics All-State ensembles across Iowa each fall, and is a show choir adjudicator/clinician throughout the US annually.

Bob and his wife, Jill, recently moved to Urbandale, Iowa, and are thoroughly enjoying life in the Des Moines Metro area!

Jack Daubitz is the head vocal music director at Waukee Northwest High School in Waukee, Iowa. At Northwest, Jack conducts The Northwest Singers, the select mixed choir, as well as two bass clef ensembles, Northwest Glee Club and Wülfchor. In addition to his curricular duties he also directs the varsity show choir, Eos, a jazz choir, Noteworthy, and serves as the pit orchestra conductor for the annual musical. Jack holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Iowa State University, studying with Dr. James Rodde, and a Master of Music Education: Choral Conducting from the University of St. Thomas, studying with Dr. Phillip Shoultz and Dr. Bert Pinsonneault. When not working with students Jack enjoys spending time with his wife, Kersten, also a music educator, and being outdoors or cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones.

Tony Dam is in his third year as Associate Director of Vocal Music at Waukee High School, where he directs a mixed choir, two treble clef ensembles, Spirit (show choir), and Soundcheck (jazz choir). Prior to teaching at Waukee, Mr. Dam taught 7-12 Vocal Music at the PCM Community School District in Monroe, Iowa. In addition to his duties at PCM, he served as an assistant director at Waukee High School for the award winning show choirs, Millennium and Nova.

Graduating with distinction, Mr. Dam received his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in 2019, where he studied under Dr. James Rodde. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Music in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University studying with Dr. David Rayl, Dr. Jonathan Reed, Dr. Sandra Snow, and Dr. Derrick Fox. In addition to his duties at Waukee, Tony is an active member of ACDA and ICDA.

Peter Eklund is a widely respected choral educator, adjudicator, conductor, and clinician. He has conducted over two dozen All-State choirs (the Iowa All-State on two occasions) and has had his varied and diverse choral ensembles (concert choirs, madrigals, chamber choirs, women’s choirs, men’s choirs, musicals, and show choirs) invited to perform on 45 state, regional, national, and international gatherings of music educators and choral directors. As a K-12 show choir director in Iowa, his ensembles went undefeated in Iowa for 18 straight years. He is currently an honored Professor of Music at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and was recently voted to become President of the Faculty, assuming that role this coming May for a one-year term. He is delighted to be back near his roots and the family farm in Southwest Iowa.

Duane Philgreen is recently retired after 34 years as a music educator, the last 26 years at West Delaware High School in Manchester, Iowa.  Duane received his Bachelor of Music degree from Drake University with additional course work at The University of Iowa.  He has served as president of the IHSMA Executive Committee as well as Section 4 representative for the National Federation (NFHS) Music Advisory Committee.  Duane has arranged music for many groups with several of his arrangements being sung at Regional ACDA Conventions.  He has written numerous compositions for his choirs including the 2019 winner of the ICDA/IFA Choral Composition Competition.  Duane was director of award winning show choirs at the 1A, 3A and 4A levels.

In retirement Duane keeps busy as a freelance accompanist and clinician with plenty of time being spent with his two grandsons and making toys in Grandpa’s Workshop.

Michelle Philgreen, from Manchester, Iowa is an accomplished singer, dancer, actress, & choreographer.  Michelle has studied dance, voice, and drama at the University of Iowa and in New York City.  She has traveled extensively performing at theme parks, on a cruise ship, and singing back up and opening shows for the late Tennessee Ernie Ford.  She has choreographed for show choir camps in both Iowa and Nebraska, Theatre Cedar Rapids, Celebration Iowa, numerous musicals and show choirs - many winning Best Choreography awards, and has been director and choreographer for Cedar Rapids Follies and Jim McDonough’s Holiday Grande Tours and Spring Tours.  Michelle recently retired from teaching dance after 45 years, and her newest adventure is her home bakery business – CinnaCakes, and spending time with her recently retired husband, Duane, and their really fun, extremely cute grandsons! ;)

Julie Schnieders received her BA in Vocal Music Education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and her MA in Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The majority of her 33 years of teaching Vocal Music were with the Indianola Community School district where she directed high school curricular choirs, 2 show choirs, annual musicals, and taught Music Theory, Music History, and voice lessons.

Julie has been an active board member with Iowa Choral Director’s Association for many years. She has served as the SC-ICDA District representative, the 9th Grade OPUS Chairperson, the Treble Clef Repertoire & Standards Chairperson, the High School Awards Chairperson, and directed both the 7-8th Grade SC-ICDA Treble Choir and the 2015 9th Grade Opus Honor Choir. She is currently the ICDA Co-Mentor Chair (assigning choral mentors with all first-and second-year vocal teachers in Iowa) and the ICDA Retired Member/Legacy Chair.

Julie adjudicates regularly for the Iowa High School Music Association vocal contests, she is a lead vocal adjudicator for the Iowa All-State Festival, and adjudicated the 3-day Missouri High School Solo/Small Ensemble State Contest. She is an adjudicator and clinician for several private show choir competitions, has been a guest conductor at several festival choirs in Iowa, and has worked with many young educators in their student teaching experiences. She had a private voice studio for over 30 years and has taught music education classes at Simpson College, Grand View University, and Drake University. Julie loves spending time with her family, friends, and baby grandson Carson!

Trevor Wiley is a vocal music teacher in the Waukee Community School District, at Waukee Prairieview School (8-9). At Prairieview he teaches daily 8th grade choirs, voice lessons, show choir, and prepares students for the Iowa OPUS Honor Choir. He is also the assistant show choir director (Eos and Aurora) and spring musical music director at Northwest Waukee High School. He previously worked in those same roles at Waukee High School. Trevor enjoys serving as a show choir competition judge/clinician, all-state quartet clinician, and solo contest adjudicator! He has previously worked for The National High School Musical Theatre Awards (Jimmy Awards) in NYC, Des Moines Performing Arts, Johnston Community Schools, and Ashworth Theatre Company. Trevor is a graduate of Drake University and a member of the American Choral Directors Association. He wishes all the best to today's performing groups!
